Department of Human Anatomy & Physiology

Exploring the Architecture & Living Dynamics of the Human Body

Departmental Overview

The Department of Human Anatomy & Physiology provides the essential pre-clinical foundation for all medical learning. Students explore gross osteology, myology, neuroanatomy, and histology through cadaveric models and microscopic slides, while simultaneously understanding cellular mechanics, hemodynamics, neurophysiology, and systemic homeostasis.

Clinical Applications
  • Surface anatomy landmarks for spinal adjustments and musculoskeletal palpation
  • Precise acupuncture meridian and trigger point localization based on neurovascular bundles
  • Autonomic nervous system assessment (sympathetic vs. parasympathetic tone)
  • Hemodynamic monitoring during hydrothermal treatments and fasting
Practical & Hands-On Training
  • Dissection model studies, osteology specimen handling, and histology microscopy
  • Human cardiovascular physiology (BP measurement, 12-lead ECG, pulse wave velocity)
  • Respiratory spirometry and vital capacity testing
  • Hematology experiments (Erythrocyte sedimentation, blood grouping, Hb estimation)

Department Laboratories & Facilities

Well-equipped Anatomy Museum with articulated human skeletons and viscera models
Histology Laboratory with high-resolution compound microscopes
Human Physiology Laboratory with digital spirometers, ECG machines, and sphygmomanometers
Amphitheatre Demonstration Room with interactive anatomical projection
